Howdy and
welcome. This tutorial is simple and easy and
uses no outside filters. The teardrop shape is
used so if you don't have it you can get it here.It is
written using PSP 7. Hope you enjoy it ... ;o)
... Lady TX.
After you get Delmar finished go here. Lady Chado has made a great spider web tutorial so Delmar can have a home ... ;o).

Right click on
this color palette and save to your hard drive.
1. Open the color
palette in PSP. Set your foreground color to
black and your background color to the gray in
the color palette. Open a new transparent image
500X500.
2. Go to the
Preset Shapes and choose Ellipse with these
settings.

3. Draw Delmar a
head.

4. Convert to
raster layer.
5. Go back to the
Preset Tool with the same settings and draw
Delmar a body.

6. Convert to
raster layer.
7. Go to your
layer palette and pull that layer beneath the
head layer. You can use the deformation tool to
change the look of Delmar's head or body if you
want to.
8. Click on your
head layer.
9. Change your
background color to white. Go to your preset
tools and choose the teardrop shape. Change the
line width to 2.
10. Draw a
teardrop shape. Convert to raster layer. Go to
Images/Flip and flip the teardrop. Move it into
position with the moving tool and use the
deformation tool to change the size if you like.
11. Now we need
another eye. Draw another teardrop shape and do
the same things for his right eye.
12. Now go to your
paintbrush, with these settings and give him a
pupil in each eye. Don't forget that you have to
make the eye layer that you are working on active
by clicking on it.

13. As you do each
pupil, go to Effects/Blur/Soften and soften each
one a bit.

14. Add a new
layer. With your airbrush with these settings and
a pink color paint Delmar some cheeks.

15. Go to
Effects/Blur/Gaussian Blur and blur his cheeks at
7.00 radius.
16. Make your
background color the orange from the color
palette and your foreground color black.
17. Make sure your
top layer is active. Go to your preset tools and
choose the ellipse again and make Delmar a nose.
Move it into the position you want and change the
shape to your liking.
18. Convert to
raster layer.
19. Add a new
layer. With your airbrush using the same settings
except change the density to 43, lightly spray
some black along the right side and the bottom of
Delmar's nose.
20. Go to
Effects/Blur/Gaussian and give it a blur of 9.00
radius.
21. With your
paintbrush and a line width of 3 give Delmar a
mouth.
22. Add a new
layer. Draw lines all the way around Delmar for
his hair.

23. Now let's give
Delmar some legs. Add a new layer. I used my draw
tool set on point to point with a line width of
2.
24. Draw 4 legs on
the left side. Then go to the layers palette and
duplicate that layer. Then go to Image/Mirror.
Move the legs into position.
25. I thought
Delmar needed some shading on his body so I made
a new layer and lightly sprayed some black on his
right side and some white on his left side and
gave it a gaussian blur of 12.00.
