My Hero

This page is dedicated to my hero, my dad.

He has always been a wonderful man. He has loved his family, cared for them, and worked hard for them all his life. He has always been there for me and my mom, but the care and love that he gave her during her last months on this earth showed the true meaning of love and devotion.

My mother passed away Dec. 3, 1999. She was diagnosed with lung cancer and for the last year and 1/2 of her life here on earth my dad was with her and cared for her all himself. He saw her through brain surgery, and lung surgery. He took her to chemotherapy and radiation everyday for months. He cared for her night and day. He fed her, bathed her, dressed her and got her to endless doctor's appointments. It's not just the fact that he did all these things, it is the spirit with which he did them. He did them tirelessly, and with kindness and genuine love.

Thank you dad for taking such good care of my mom. For loving her and showing her love and kindness throughout her life but especially in those last months. Thank you for having the strength and devotion so that she could be at home and taken care of with love and not in some hospital or care home where her care and attention could not ever compare to yours.

You are my hero and shall surely have special rewards in heaven awaiting you.
