This tutorial was made with PSP 7. Selections are available or you may use vectors to complete this tutorial. The zip below contains the selections, and the color palette. Make a folder in your PSP selections file and unzip the selections into that. Save the color palette on your hard drive and open it in PSP. Line them up on the left and open your color palette in PSP and add each one to custom colors. That way they are there for you and you do not have to keep selecting them or adding in the html code manually.

Now we're ready to create! Have fun!!

1. Open a new transparent image 400X400. Add a new raster layer called "wood top".

2. Go to selections/load from disk and double click on "wooden top". Flood fill with the wood fill provided.

3. Selections/Float. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Inner Bevel and apply an inner bevel with these settings:

4. Select none.

5. Add a new layer called "bell holder1". Go to selections/load from disk and double click on the "bell holder1.sel". Flood fill with the gray color.

6. Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Texture. Select the Dark Stucco with the following settings.

7. Use your spray paint and the orange color with these settings and give the metal some rust.

8. Selections/Float. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Cutout and apply these settings:

8. Do the cutout effect again but with the horizontal being "-1" this time. Selections/defloat.

9. Go to Effects/3D Effects/Drop Shadow and apply with these settings:

10. Selections/none.

11. Add new raster layer called "bell holder 2" and go to selections/load from disk and double click on the "bell holder 2.sel".

12. Flood fill with the gray color.

13. Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Texture and apply the same settings as before.

14. Spray paint with the orange to give your metal some rust.

15. Go to Selections/Float.

16. Apply the cutout effect twice as before and defloat.

17. Apply the same drop shadow as before.

18. Add new layer and load from disk "bell holder 3.sel".

19. Treat this piece of metal just like the other two. Load with the gray color, go to texture and apply same texture, spray paint with the orange for rust, float the image and apply the cutout effect twice, defloat and apply the same drop shadow.

20. Selections/none.

21. Add new layer called "bell top". Go to Selections/Load from disk and double click on the "bell top.sel".

22. Flood fill with the blue checkered pattern.

23. Go to Effects/Noise/Edge Preserving and apply with a setting of 17.

24. Go to Effects/Texture Effects/Texture and apply the same metal texture.

25. Select none.

26. Add new layer called "bell stripe". Go to Selections/Load from disk and double click on the "bell stripe.sel".

27. Flood fill with the dark cream color.

28. Apply the texture - Effects/Texture Effects/Texture - as before.

29. Go to Effects/Noise/Edge Preserving and apply that filter at the setting of 3.

30. Go to Effects/Noise/Median Filter and apply that filter at a setting of 3.

31. Spray paint your stripe with the light cream color and the same settings and then apply the Median Filter again.

32. Select none.

33. Add new layer calling it red stripe.

34. With your selection tool make a narrow rectangle at the top of the stripe.

35. Spray paint this with the red color and apply the median filter.

36. Select none. Duplicate this red stripe layer and selecting your mover tool, move the duplicated layer down to the bottom of the cream stripe.

37. Add new layer naming it star. With your foreground color the dark cream and the texture shut off go to your preset shapes and make a star. Convert this layer to raster and with the magic wand select the star.

38. Spray paint this dark cream star with the red color filling it in quite a bit and apply the edge preserving smooth filter. Select none.

39. Duplicate the star layer to make as many stars as you like and use the moving tool to move them into position.

Sure hope you are saving your work !!!!!!!

40. Add a new layer called "bell middle" and go to Selections/load from disk and double click on the "bell middle.sel".

41. Flood fill this layer with the gray color and apply the texture as before.

42. Spray paint the orange all around your image.

43. Spray paint some black along the right and left sides of the image.

44. Using the soften and smudge tools blend these colors to your liking.

45. Spray paint some of the light cream down the center and blend it in.

46. Apply the texture again and then spray paint over all of it with the gray again letting some of the other colors show through. Your image should look something like this.

47. Select none.

48. Add new layer calling it bell bottom. Go to selections/load from disk and double click on the "bell bottom.sel".

49. Flood fill with the checkered pattern. Go to Noise/Edge Preserving with a setting of 3.

50. Apply the same texture.

51. Add new Layer calling it bottom stripe. Load the "bottom stripe.sel".

52. Flood fill the selection with the light cream color and spray paint it with red. Apply the same texture.

53. Add a new Layer calling it bottom stripe 2. Load the "bottom stripe 2.sel".

54. Flood fill the selection with the light cream color and spray paint it with red. Apply the same texture.

55. Make invisible the wood layer and the metal layers. The only thing visible should be the bell itself and merge visible layers.

56. Load the "bell.sel" and float the selection.

57. Apply cutout with the following settings:

58. Selections defloat. Selections none.

59. Add new layer calling it crack.

60. Load the selection "crack.sel". Flood fill with the dark gray.

61. Float the selection. Go to Effects/3D Effects/cutout and apply the cutout with these settings:

62. Select none. Merge all visible layers. Resize as needed.

WHEW!!!! That's it folks.
